- French hardware store and DIY chain Castorama extends lease for retail property north of Paris

Hamburg, 3rd of September 2025 – HIH Invest Real Estate (HIH Invest) has extended its long-term lease agreement with Castorama for a large retail property in Creil, approximately 60 km north of Paris. The French DIY and home improvement chain thus continues to secure a location in one of the highest-turnover retail areas in northern France. It has a lettable area of 18,206 square metres and offers customers 500 parking spaces. Castorama has been the sole tenant of the property since 2012 under a 12-year fixed-term lease and the extension secures its continued use of the location. The retail property was acquired by HIH Invest in 2010 for a German individual fund.

The town of Creil and its neighbouring suburbs form the Creil Sud Oise conurbation with more than 90,000 inhabitants, making it a dynamic business location for commercial real estate. The retail property is located in the ‘Les Longères des Haies’ commercial park in Saint-Maximin, a suburb south of Creil. Other retail markets and the ‘Park Avenue’ shopping centre are in the immediate vicinity. The D1016 departmental road provides a direct connection to Creil and the surrounding towns, as well as to the Paris motorway network.
The property complies with current French environmental and energy standards. These include the Tertiary Decree on reducing energy consumption in non-residential buildings, BACS requirements for building automation and CRREM compliance.
